This 180-hours course includes study of prevention and rehabilitation methods in yoga and other traditional health systems and explanation of their effectiveness from modern science perspective (biology, medicine, physics).

The program is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Basic education: completed secondary medical education.

Traditional Health Systems in Rehabilitation Medicine course includes:

  • General issues on health care and preventive medicine.
  • Use of traditional health systems in recreation therapy and rehabilitation.
  • Methods for maintaining a system in state of vital capacity and development (yoga, Chi Kung, self-regulation and other).
  • Prevention and active longevity maintenance methods. Purification, healthy nutrition, water consumption schedule, fasting therapy, self-massage, physical activity, relaxation, psychic self-regulation.
  • Yoga therapy as a rehabilitation method. Basic principles of yoga therapy. Gymnastics for joints, dynamic and static exercise.
  • Yoga therapy for different types of nosology. Treatment of locomotion, respiratory and endocrine systems, gastrointestinal tract, psychosomatic diseases.
  • Medical control and psychophysical state of organism diagnostics methods.
  • Comprehensive rehabilitation systems including:

 - Physical activity (yoga and Chi Kung gymnastics, dynamic and static exercises, postures);
 - Breathing (dynamic and static breathing exercises, yoga and Chi Kung breathing practices);
 - Work with psychoemotional state (relaxation and mediation techniques, psychophysical methods);
 - Psychic self-regulation techniques in different traditional health systems. Autosuggestion. Autogenic training.
 - Stress prevention. Stress impact elimination by means of alternative medicine.

Education certificates

After completion of studies, fulfillment of all the requirements and passing examinations a certificate of traditional health systems in rehabilitation medicine specialist is issued.

Modes of study

Full-time education. Monthly seminars on weekends from 9:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. (16 academic hours per month). Length of course is 11 months.
